Station Rotations & Flexible Layouts
I create physical layouts that often support varying levels of independence. This can look like studio clusters or small-group instruction tables. Advanced students work autonomously at collaborative tables, while students requiring more support gather for teacher-directed step-by-step guidance.
Visual Scaffolding & Tiered Assessments
Differentiation is also in the curriculum content and assessments I design. I offer choices to allow varied entry into a theme or to use tiered skill worksheets. One example of choice is choice-based learning sheets. See below.
Media Choices
I offer alternative art materials based on sensory needs or fine motor skill levels (e.g., pre-cut paper or thick-grip brushes for early elementary students; precision tools for high schoolers).
